Colors of clothing, vehicles, buildings, and any other way color shows up in your dream is always a symbol, and a big clue given by the Lord to help you understand the message He is attempting to convey through it.
So, let's look at the color green.
As we've stated before, people, places, and colors are the top keys to first interpret to unlock your dream's meaning. A good Christian symbol dictionary will be based upon the Principle of First Mention, but we also leave room for the variety of ways God speaks His rhema words.
Many times, colors have the same symbolic meanings as they do in the Bible. For example, grass green or evergreen means life, as in the following Scripture:
"And I have given every green plant as food for all the wild animals, the birds in
the sky, and all the small animals that scurry along the ground--everything that
has life." - Genesis 1:30 (NLT)
Colors Can Have Opposite Meanings, Too
As with almost all symbols used in dreams, a color can be used for good or bad, and the dreamer must consider the other symbols and actions being done in the dream to determine the correct symbol definition.
Just as green can mean life, it can also mean death:
"I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green. Its rider was named Death."
- Revelation 6:8 (NLT)
Green can also signify the works of the demonic:
"They set up sacred pillars and Asherah poles (used to worship a demonic god)
at the top of every hill and under every green tree." - 2 Kings 17:10 (NLT)
As much as it always surprises me, sometimes our dreams are full of puns, riddles, and even slang. For example, when we say someone is green it can mean they are new at a certain thing. Or, we might say they look "green around the gills," meaning they look sick. Another way we use the color green is "green with envy." These can all be possible interpretations of the predominant green in your dream.
If you're wearing green clothing in your dream, ask yourself, "Was I envious about anything yesterday or maybe the day before?" If so, you can figure that's likely what the dream, and the Lord of the dream, are addressing.
Colors of clothing, vehicles, buildings, and any other way color shows up in your dream is always a symbol, and a big clue given by the Lord to help you understand the message He is attempting to convey through it. Always consider every color, and be careful to assign the correct meaning to it, depending on its use being positive or negative.
